Amazing AugustDear Parent,(s) Greetings! Let’s take a sneak peek into the month of “Amazing August” The festive season is the most joyous time of the year for everyone. It is essential to teach the importance of festivals to our little ones. This festive month inspired our little ones not only with the spirit of patriotism, but they also learnt the significance of the Hindu festivals- Rakshabandhan and Janmashtami. Universal Value- ‘I am Respectful’ Children were explained the significance of the Universal Value – ‘I am Respectful’. Children were briefed on the use of magic words (Please, May I, Sorry, Thank you) during the Rapport Building sessions. The educator instilled the virtue of respect in the kids through discussions and some examples like appreciating children for patiently waiting for their turn, listening to their peers etc. Theme: Plants and Land TransportPlants: The children learnt about various types of plants, their needs, parts of a plant, and uses of plants. They were also briefed on the ways to take care of the plants and how plants are useful to us. Land transport: Transportation is an important part of everyday life. The children must understand its importance and the rules pertaining to it. They were made aware of the traffic lights and its importance, private and public transport, emergency vehicles, vehicles used in rural and urban areas, and railways. Naturalistic IntelligenceThe educator reiterated on the importance of plants and a few facts related to them. Children were introduced to different types of plants. They were also apprised of various parts of a plant and their functions. The process of photosynthesis was explained to them by which plants make their own food. Our other theme of the month was ‘Transport’. Transportation is the necessity of our lives. The children understood its importance and the rules pertaining to it. They saw videos related to different means of land transport and road safety rules. The educator explained the topic in a fun way wherein they recited the rhymes like ‘Red Light., Red Light and Wheels on the Bus go round and round’. The educator also apprised children on the effects of rising pollution on Earth and explained to students the best way to prevent air, land, and water pollution through discussions and activities.
