We were delighted to welcome our children back after the fulfilled winter vacations to yet another month of learning and growing. Let’s take a sneak peek into the joyous month of January . It’s important to protect tigers so that they can continue to live in a safe environment. Hence the theme taken for the month of January was Tiger.
Naturalistic Intelligence The teacher introduced the children to the festival of Basant Panchami. The children were explained that the festival marks the end of winter season and the beginning of spring season. Vasant Panchami means the fifth day of spring. It takes place 40 days before Holi and marks the start of preparations for that festival. The colour yellow is strongly associated with Basant Panchami, representing the fields of mustard which is a common sight in the areas of Punjab and Haryana at this time of the year. People wear bright yellow clothes and cook colourful food to mark the beginning of spring, with many of the dishes cooked being yellow, such as sweetened rice, flavored with saffron. The children also made a craft on this occasion by using the simple technique of fork printing.
