Superb SeptemberDear Parent(s) Greetings! With beautiful mesmerising moments and joyful days, we are elated to see our little ones once again brimming with the brightest and adorable laughter. Early years programme is a commitment to inquire and explore as vehicles for learning. We foster innate curiosity in children through concrete hands-on experiences which occurs in contexts that take the shape of 'themes' with integration of all the multiple intelligences. Let’s take a glimpse of the month of September. Theme of the Month- Transport (Land, Air and Water) Acquainting our ebullient learners with the theme Transportation was explored by the students. They were made aware about different modes of transport i.e. Land, Air and Water. They were shown videos of the vehicles used in rural and urban areas. They were also explained about the significance of traffic lights. Children were made aware about private and public transport and emergency vehicles. They were educated about obeying the traffic rules and caution to be maintained while being on the road and following the traffic signals with the help of role plays. Naturalistic Intelligence Children were sensitized about different ways to prevent air, land and water pollution through discussions. They were also made aware of how public transport is good for our environment and encouraged to use the same. Our young curious minds were enlightened that how we can reduce the air pollution by using CNG gas instead of diesel. We also talked about electric vehicles like metro, electric rickshaw and toy cars. Verbal Linguistic Intelligence- English Connecting letters and sounds is an important capability for children as they begin to work out words while reading and writing. A short role play was presented by the children of Nursery A followed by an action song “oh! Grandpa, Grandma”. Bodily Kinesthetic Event We at Suncity, believe the development of Gross Motor Skills is important to foster imagination through Active Play. It encourages problem solving and critical thinking (e.g. how am I going to climb over this log?), hones risk taking skills, builds confidence & self-esteem and eventually creates happy children. Keeping this in mind the ‘bodily kinaesthetic event’ was organised on 27th September 2019, at the school's gymnasium. Our champs presented numerous ways to polish their gross and fine motor skills through hurdle jumping, balancing balls, Zumba, etc . They started unknown and finished unforgettable. We look forward to your feedback and comments on our month-long effort to make school learning happy and productive.
