Dear Parent(s), Greetings! September is a special month for the students and the teachers as we celebrated Teacher’s Day on 5th September. It marks the birth anniversary of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the second President of free India. A plethora of activities were conducted for our little champs in order to foster the` गुरु शिष्य परम्परा `, of which we Indians are proud owners of. We celebrated ‘Hindi Diwas’, ‘Teachers’ Day’, ‘Verbal Linguistic Event’ and ‘Gandhi Jayanti ’ during this month. Let’s take a sneak peek into the month of “Super September” Theme: Air and Water TransportLearning the different modes of transport is an inspiration for the future. Through this theme, our children explored about different vehicles that can move on land, in the air, and on water. They also learnt about other transport means like the hand glider, hot air balloon, helicopters and airplanes for going to far-off places. Water transport intrigued them in how they can travel by water on something as small as a rowboat to as large as a ship and even go under water in a submarine. Naturalistic IntelligenceTrips and tours are very important for new learning and exposure. To enhance the knowledge, our little ones went on a virtual tour to the airport with the help of the educator using AV-link. The educator introduced the concept of 3R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) through a rhyme: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle It’s very easy to do It's simple to remember Recycle what you use! Separate glass and paper Separate plastic and tin Then put them their places In the recycling bin. SDG-7; ‘Affordable and Clean Energy’ was discussed in the class followed by explaining the different forms of energy like electricity, fuel and gas. The boat experiment was done by our little ones through which they got to know about the concept of ‘Float and Sink’. Verbal Linguistic Intelligence –English Learning a language enables children to discover their potential to communicate and express themselves. Children recognized the letters ‘n’, ‘o' and' p' with the help of stories, phonic sounds through jolly phonics song, and their related vocabulary words. They also recapitulated writing letters 'e', 'f', 'g' and 'h' in their notebooks. Children practiced reading a few sight words- that, is, it, at, this, in, they, she, he, if and of. Logical Mathematical Intelligence Stimulation of logical-mathematical intelligence promotes cognitive development, especially in terms of logical thinking, reasoning, problem-solving, and concentration. Children learnt to exhibit the value of numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the abacus along with the writing practice in their notebooks. The concept of ‘missing numbers’ was also taken up with the help of a story- ‘Ms. Polly and her missing Shirts’. Children enjoyed the same and practiced in their workbooks. Our little mathematicians were able to identify, quantify, and write numbers from 14 to 16 under the concept of bundling followed by tens and ones activity. The children recapitulated the concept of ‘What comes in Between’ (1-10) with the help of number line. The children did oral counting from 1 to 50. Visual-Spatial Intelligence |
