Naturalistic Intelligence - Earth’s Natural Cycle Our little ones developed sensitivity and the sense of appreciation for nature by conducting numerous activities that brought them close to their natural surroundings. Earth’s natural cycle was the theme for the month wherein the children learned about: Seasons The little learners loved to make the craft of ‘umbrella’ as they recapitulated the characteristics of the rainy season. The attributes of winter and spring seasons were introduced to them by showing pictures and real objects. They were informed about the ways to keep themselves safe and warm during the winter season through a story 'Help George to keep himself safe during the winter season. Hibernation The students were excited to learn about hibernating animals. They were informed about the difference between healthy human sleep and the process of hibernation. They were amazed to know that the animals hibernate to escape from cold. Migration Our students performed an interesting activity, “Let’s Help The Animals To Migrate” on the Migration of animals. They were also shown a video to explain why do animals migrate. Homes The children were narrated a story ‘Home Sweet Home’ wherein they were on vacation and thus explored different kinds of homes around the world like an igloo, a tent house, or a houseboat. They also loved to watch the story 'Three Little Pigs' on the screen. Verbal Linguistic Intelligence-English Linguistic intelligence enhances or improves the student’s ability to understand both spoken and written language. It also builds upon their expertise and skill to speak and write themselves. Our students revisited the letters from ‘a to s’ through an exciting game 'Swat the letter and make the phonic sound.' They were introduced to letters ‘t', 'u,' and ‘v’ through stories, and also with the help of flashcards, paper cut-outs, and real-life objects. They thoroughly enjoyed making the crafts of turtle, unicorn, and vampire for letters 't', 'u,' and 'v' and also practiced writing of letters in their workbook. Later, they were introduced to vowels in the English Alphabet and practiced forming three-letter words with 'a' and 'e' as the middle sound using letter cards. Verbal Linguistic Intelligence-Hindi The little Sun citizens loved singing the Vyanjan song with relevant actions. They were introduced to vyanjans ‘प’, ‘फ’, and ‘भ’ along with their related vocabulary through stories, flashcards, and real-life objects. They also attempted similar fun worksheets in their workbooks. Logical/Mathematical Intelligence
Bodily Kinaesthetic Intelligence Bodily Kinaesthetic Intelligence techniques improve a child's ability to process information physically through hand and body movement. It also fosters body control and expression. It helps them to strengthen their gross and fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination. So our little learners learned about the fitness skills through several activities: Jumping & Turning 360 degrees Legs opening in three directions Forward & backward rolls Half stand practices Walking on balancing beam Animal and crab walk forward and backward Running and jumping practice Yoga drill EYP Play Area The children enjoyed free play in the EYP play area and in the Activity Room. It helped in the development of their gross motor skills, social-emotional well-being, and peer play skills. Skating Skating is a high fitness activity that results in the development of both gross motor and excellent motor skills. Our children enjoyed all the skating sessions to the fullest and built upon their muscular strength. They learned the balancing skills during all their sessions. Dance Dancing is an excellent source of entertainment, laughter, and joy. The children strengthened their skill by dancing on the song ‘I Only Want You For Christmas.' Musical Intelligence Musical intelligence enables children to recognize sounds and tones with ease. They appreciate music and rhythm and can joyfully learn songs and melodies. ·Indian Music (Sangeet for all) Children delightfully sang and played a musical instrument – Swar Tarang. They were excited to sing songs like ‘Potato song’ and ‘Sa Re Ga Gaaiye’. ·Western music The children sang ‘A Sailor Went To Sea' in their western music class. The song helped in enhancing their musical skills. It also helped in the development of their vocabulary. Co-curricular activities Audio Visual The use of audio-visual aids helped students' to do critical and analytical thinking while watching videos. The children joyfully watched the following clips during their AV slot: · Hibernating Animals · Migration of Animals and Birds · Story – The Mole · Preparing for Winter · Vegetable Song · Rap Song of Number Names · Rhymes – Five Little Snowmen, Hokey Pokey and I am a little snowman · Letter stories Dramatics Drama helped children develop their communication skills and build upon their emotional intelligence. It also enhanced their confidence while they indulged in activities like characterization, voice modulation, and facial expressions during the storytelling sessions. They were told a number of stories like ‘The Falcon And The Crow’, ‘King Cobra And The Ant’, ‘The Small boat And The Sea’ and ‘The Hermit And The Jumping Rat’. Library To improve focus and concentration, the children were asked to undertake a self-reading session in the library. While reading, they were also asked to find out the sight words from the storybook-like I, the, is, it, am, this, that, etc. The educator also narrated different stories to our young learners like ‘Pee Ka Boo Park!’, ‘ Night- Night,' 'Happy Families,' The Ginger Breadman' and ' The Three Little Pigs.' Montessori The children performed the following activities in the Montessori lab:
Pottery The children were super excited to make the clay models of turtle, fruits, and vase as per the instructions given by the educator. This activity helped them in developing their fine motor skills. Storytelling To encourage active participation and to promote the use of imagination and creativity, storytelling sessions were conducted by the educator wherein a few stories were narrated to the young ones like ‘Paula the Vet' and 'Hermit The Crab.' Tab Kids The children were delighted to play the following activities on their respective tabs: ·Missing letters ·Missing numbers ·Let’s Count Events and Celebrations Science Week For fostering scientific learning in early childhood, active hand on learning is important and this can be best achieved through science experiments. Few experiments were planned for the little ones during the Science Week. · Water proofing of homes: The students were demonstrated that the roof tiles are the most waterproof, followed by the sticks and then the grass. They observed that the roof tiles kept the inside of the house dry whereas the grass and the wooden sticks let some water seep it. · Absorption of water by raisins: The children conducted an experiment in which they observed that when the raisins are placed in water, they absorb water and swell up. · Importance of moisture in clay: The children were explained that the amount of water present in clay is called the moisture content. They also observed the changes in the colour and texture of the clay as it absorbed water and as it got dry. Gurpurab Celebration Guru Nanak Jayanti was celebrated by the EYP children with full enthusiasm. They conducted an assembly on ‘Gurpurab’ emphasising on the significance of this day. They were also told that the festivities in the Sikh religion revolve around the anniversaries of the 10 Sikh Gurus. They offered prayers to the Sikh Gurus and then took religious processions (Prabhat Pheri) in the school premises while singing praises of Wahe Guru. Excursion A manner development visit was planned for our young angels to instill a sense of etiquette and other essential life skills. They visited ‘Haldirams’ Restaurant with their friends and learned basic rules to engage in social interactions. They practiced the use of magic words like 'Thank you' and 'Excuse Me.' The purpose of the visit was also to teach them good table manners like seating etiquette, spoon and fork handling, table setting, etc. Grandparents’ Day Celebration
To shower love and respect to the grandparents of our little angels, a grand event was organised as ‘Naman’. A series of activities were planned for the loving grandparents wherein they enjoyed painting, running and racing together with their kids. This was indeed a great opportunity for our young learners to spend value time with their Dada-Dadi and Nana-Nani and hence they took home some loving memories that they will cherish forever.

Its wonderful to see all the things that kids do throughtout the month at one place. Reading the posts and looking at the pictures we feel lot much connected with the school , teachers and kids as to how they spend the entire day.
